Meet the Advisor: Why I Do This Differently

If you’ve spent any time researching life insurance, mortgage protection, or safe money strategies, you’ve probably noticed one thing: there’s no shortage of opinions — and very little clarity.

I’m Kurt Lytle, founder of IUL.Solutions, and I wanted to take a moment to share why I approach this work differently than most — and what that means for the people I serve.

Independence Matters More Than Most People Realize

I’m an independent life insurance professional, which means I’m not tied to a single carrier, product, or quota. That independence is intentional. It allows me to focus on suitability over sales, education over pressure, and long-term outcomes over short-term transactions.

Sometimes the best advice I can give is: “Keep what you already have.” I’m comfortable saying that — because my job is to serve your interests, not fill a production requirement.

What I Actually Help People With

Most of the families I work with are looking for one or more of the following: mortgage protection that truly protects their family rather than the lender, a better way to use life insurance without the hype, growth strategies that don’t involve stock market risk, guaranteed lifetime income they can rely on, or simply a second opinion on an existing policy or plan. If you already have an advisor and just want clarity, that’s welcome here too.

Why Safe Money Isn’t About Fear

A lot of people assume safe money planning is about being overly conservative. In reality, it’s about control — control over market volatility, income predictability, legacy planning, and how and when money is accessed. For most families, especially homeowners and pre-retirees, that matters more than chasing the highest possible return.

My practice is based in Nashville and Middle Tennessee. Most consultations happen virtually, making it easy to have a thoughtful conversation without pressure — wherever you are.

What You Can Expect From Me

If we speak, here’s what you won’t get: a sales pitch, a one-product solution, or a rushed conversation. What you will get is plain-English explanations, honest pros and cons, and a recommendation only if it actually makes sense for your situation. Sometimes that recommendation is no change at all.

My goal isn’t to sell insurance. It’s to help people make confident decisions about protecting their family, their income, and their future — without confusion or regret.
